The League of American Orchestras’ 2023 National Conference this June was a landmark event for everyone in the orchestra field. Now the League has posted recordings and resources from the Conference at https://americanorchestras.org/envision/conference-2023-session-recordings/. Recordings of Conference sessions include the Opening Concert and Keynote, which featured performances by two youth orchestras and an address by National Endowment for the Arts Chair Maria Rosario Jackson; the League’s Annual Meeting and Gold Baton Presentation, which featured a discussion between Deborah Borda, recipient of this year’s Gold Baton award, and author and filmmaker Jamie Bernstein; the Closing Luncheon and Plenary Session, and recordings of many of the elective sessions, which focus on specific topics. Presentations and transcripts of multiple sessions are posted, and a photo slideshow captures the collegiality and connections among Conference delegates. A video of Byron Stripling delivering his inspirational address is online now and can be viewed for a limited time, through Thursday, August 17. Check it all out at https://americanorchestras.org/envision/conference-2023-session-recordings/.
